SieMatic 29, the new kitchen sideboard by SieMatic, won the German Design Award in GOLD on Friday, February 12, in the category “Excellent Product Design – Kitchen.” It was the only kitchen solution awarded in GOLD.
The international jury’s reasoning: The SieMatic 29 was designed as a stand-alone piece, which positions it as the new, surprisingly versatile reinterpretation of the traditional kitchen sideboard for which the company became famous almost one hundred years ago. The distinctive silhouette, delicate feet and compact niche distinguish the timeless, elegant, unique character of this wonderful piece. In addition, it can be easily fitted with numerous modern kitchen equipment, and the color, size and material can be individually customized.
The coveted German Design Award is the premium international prize given by the Council for Design [Rat für Formgebung] and is one of the most prestigious design competitions in the world. The German Design Award in Gold stands for top performance in international design: In each category of the German Design Award, this special title is awarded just once a year to the very best of the best.
